MONTEGO BAY (ST.JAMES), June 24, 2013- Caribbean Producers Jamaica limited today hosted the inaugural breakfast meeting for the Junior Achievement Jamaica organization in the Western region. The meeting brought together members from the business community who were introduced to JA Jamaica for the first time.
The breakfast meeting served as forum to inform and educate members of the Montego Bay business community of the impact of the JA Jamaica programme as well as its role in developing and nurturing entrepreneurial skills in Jamaican youth.
Mark Hart, the Executive Chairman of Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited, along with the CPJ family, officially welcomed members of the JA Jamaica to the city of Montego Bay. In his address, Mr. Hart expressed CPJ’s commitment to the growth of the JA Jamaica in the Western Region.
“Developing youth is critical to the future of Jamaica and the JA Jamaica is focused on developing youths as future leaders. We (CPJ) support initiatives that drive sustainability for the growth of youth in Jamaica.”
The meeting was led by Junior Achievement Alum, Callia Smith with remarks being delivered by Bruce Bowen, Chairman of JA Jamaica and Paul Lalor, Executive Board Member of JA Jamaica.
Among those in attendance were President of the JA Jamaica, Alphie Mullings, CEO of CPJ, Tom Tyler, Ian Dear(Margaritaville),Mark and Paula Kerr-Jarrret (Barnett Estate), Janet Silvera (The Gleaner), Kishim Santani(Tropicans Jewellers), John Byles (Chukka Caribbean), Karen Burgess (KPMG), Peter Williams (PWC), Martine Fontane , Fraser Fontane Kong and William Craig (Billy Craig Insurance).
The Junior Achievement delivers programmes that help prepare students for the real world through practical projects offering insight into how businesses function. This also allows them to explore their entrepreneurial abilities.
