Recognizing Excellence

Every year we take time out to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our team members. In May 2017, we celebrated 56 team members who received awards for Top Performer, Manager of the Year, Driver of the Year, Employee of the Year and the Chairman’s Award, among others categories.

Recruitment & Staffing

In June 2016, Dr. David Lowe was confirmed as Chief Executive Officer, charged with leading the management team and restructuring our business model. Over the past fiscal year, our staff has been streamlined by 11% in alignment with the new strategic course. CPJ’s compensation and benefits policy remains competitive and in line with industry standards. The company continues to seek out top talent to strengthen our team.

A Great Place to Work

CPJ cares about the mental, physical, and financial health of our employees and their families. Every year, CPJ collaborates with a number of companies for the well-being of our valued team.

This year, as part of our Preventative Wellness initiative we partnered with companies to provide healthcare services onsite. Dentopia Dental Clinic visited with our team for complimentary teeth cleaning.

The National Health Fund (NHF) team conducted on-site registration for the NHF card which subsidizes treatment for critical illnesses.
Sagicor offered their services for vision and cholesterol testing, while representatives from Neutrogena conducted complimentary skin analysis.
The University of the West Indies Mona School of Business (MSB) presented information on their continuing education programs, and Victoria Mutual conducted an information session on mortgage and car loan applications.

At our Back-to-School Wellness Session, partners included Maxxis Department Store, the Urban Book Store and Ecenshalz which provided discounted back-to-school supplies; and Jamaica Money Market Brokers who offered a back-to-school promotion, among several others. Staff facilities at CPJ include a fitness centre and cafeteria to keep team members healthy and energized. CPJ stands out in the region as an employer who cares.

Training & Development

Ongoing training and development is an important part of working at CPJ. The HR department aims to create more awareness and greater sensitivity toward workplace issues. Under our updated business model, in the new fiscal year we will focus on developing talent and consistent training of staff to uphold industry best practices across the company.

Latest Technology

The Human Resources department recently implemented multi-functional cloud-based HR software, which has effectively transformed our processes to paperless. This software is improving employee onboarding, company transparency, and scalability of corporate initiatives. This software fulfills our varied HR needs, streamlining our processes and generating the reports necessary for long-term planning. Kiosks have been installed in both Kingston and Montego Bay so team members can access their accounts and make the necessary applications.
