CPJ is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen and continues to support initiatives that are aimed at providing persons with a better quality of life. For over 15 years CPJ has focused on youth development through education based on The Company’s annual CPJ Scholarship and Book List Programs.

Through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate, we continuously support several educational & health initiatives, community programs, and charities. Some of these include SOS Children’s Homes, We Care for Cornwall Regional Hospital Foundation, Junior Achievement Jamaica, Glenhope Place of Safety, CUMI, and The Good Shepherd Foundation.

These programs are offered exclusively to the children of CPJ’s employees. We are pleased to report that our scholarship awardees increased by approximately 30% year over year based on the performance of the students and the heightened interest by out team members.

Approximately 50 students received scholarships this year and our Booklist program for students who did not qualify for a scholarship was also well received.

The Community for the Upliftment of the Mentally Ill (CUMI) walkathon is a premier event that is held annually at the Tryall Club and attracts over 700 participants from the Montego Bay community. Other walkathons included the Montego Bay City and the Kiwanis Club of Providence Cancer walk in October.

Not to be left out, our Kingston team also displayed their commitment to the community by participating in the JHTA Kingston City Run.

In March 2014, CPJ adopted the Glenhope Place of Safety in Kingston. Our entire Kingston team held a toy drive and visited the property to host a treat for them. It was well received by the residents and an extremely fulfilling day for our staff as they played and spent time with the children.

Labour Day 2015, CPJ adopted the Bogue Hill Primary & Junior High School in Montego Bay. Members of our Montego Bay team replaced pipe fountains, beautifying their gardens and painting and cleaning their bathrooms.

Over the years we supported several local sporting events. We have committed to being the title sponsor for the Jamaica Independent School Association (JISA) annual athletic event for over three years. This event involves some seventy-five schools from all across Jamaica and promotes character development, teamwork and a genuine care for others as a pre-requisite to participate.

We Care was officially launched on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the Oleander Restaurant, Sandals Montego Bay. The launch served as a means to introduce We Care to the Western region and the extended public, driving home We Care’s mission of improving the services at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.

Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited, CPJ, in collaboration with Round Hill Hotel and Villas, were hosts to the inaugural Charity Wine Dinner on December 5, 2013.
