Return Policy

At CPJ, our approach to credits and returns is aimed at a cooperative commitment and dedication to improving consumer food safety. We ask that our customers work with CPJ to comply with recent revisions to our Returns Policy. CPJ will continue to credit any returned product not accepted at time of delivery. After delivery, our credit and return policy is limited within certain guidelines.

Our Return Policy is designed to:

  • Ensure product consistency and quality
  • Reduce product loss
  • Speed up processing and ensure accuracy on all credit requests
  • Ensure all products are handled in line with Food Safety Regulations

 

When your delivery arrives, you should know:

  • Your CPJ Driver will help you verify that items delivered agree with your invoice
  • If a product is short on delivery, your CPJ driver will adjust your invoice
  • If a product is damaged, your CPJ driver will adjust your invoice
  • Once you are satisfied with your order, please pay/sign the invoice
  • DO NOT sign for a delivery with a shortage or damaged package without noting the discrepancy on the invoice

Our Return Policy after time of delivery is limited:

An item may be returned after delivery only if it meets the important following Food Safety Regulations and will be subject to a 10% restocking fee:

  • Time frameAll returns & credit requests must be within the following time frames:
    • Dairy/Frozen Items, Produce & Perishables – time of delivery
    • Dry Goods – 14 days
    • Non-Stock/Special Order Items – non-returnable without authorization
  • Packaging – Products are returnable for full credit only when they are in the original package free of markings or damage.
  • Perishables – Please inspect all ready-to-eat, dairy/frozen items, produce, fresh meat, seafood and poultry products thoroughly at time of delivery. Due to product integrity and food safety concerns resulting from excessive handling, temperature control fluctuations and other cold chain product quality control issues, dairy, frozen items, produce, fresh meat and poultry products are not returnable except at the time of delivery.
  • Non-stock/special order items – Non-stock/special order items have been purchased especially for you. Because they cannot be resold, they are not returnable except when damaged or when quality issues are identified at the time of delivery. To return non-stock/special order items after delivery, due to damage or quality, a return authorization will be required, issued after an inspection by a designated CPJ Representative.
  • Quality – Should a product present a defect or not meet expected quality standards, please contact CPJ’s Customer Service Team. CPJ is dedicated to providing the finest and safest products
