This year, the company celebrates its 23rd year of service to its hospitality and retail trade customers. CPJ is the purveyor of choice for food, non-food, beverages, wine, and spirits as well as the leading manufacturer of meats & juices sold both locally and throughout the Caribbean. Company headquarters is located in Montego Freeport, St. James.

This main hub of the distribution and manufacturing sector of the business encompasses 125,000 sq. ft. of refrigerated and dry warehouse, office and manufacturing space. In addition, there are 20,000 sq. ft. of satellite warehouses, including a private bonded warehouse. CPJ has been manufacturing juice concentrate and slush specifically for the hotel industry since 1999, expanding to retail trade under the Cariburst® brand thirteen years later. CPJ listed on the Jamaica Junior Stock Exchange (JSE) on July 20th, 2011, in line with its vision to expand into new ventures and markets. In 2012, CPJ opened CPJ Market, Deli and CRU Bar + Kitchen in Kingston.

CPJ began processing and distributing its own branded meat products including hamburgers, sausages, bacon and ready-to-cook pork products in 2013. In 2014, the company formed CPJ St. Lucia, a joint venture with the Duboulay family, former owners of the Duboulay Bottling Company. CPJ St. Lucia began operating a 25,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Castries as a food service distributor, selling products, including produce, primarily to the St. Lucian tourism sector. Today, CPJ distributes over 3000 SKUs, inclusive of many internationally renowned brands.

2016

Dr. David Lowe's promotion marks the first time that a non-founder has taken on the CEO role at the Montego Bay-based company.

Before joining CPJ, Lowe worked in agriculture as project manager for the Agro-Investment Corporation. Prior to that, in 2007, Lowe was chairman of the Agricultural Development Corporation, having already worked at Eden Gardens during its start-up phase in developing real estate and entering the Kingston hospitality market.

In Montego Bay, CPJ expanded further and built an additional 10,000 sq ft warehouse to facilitate production materials and dry goods.

CPJ St Lucia began its foodservice operations for institutional customers in July 2014 and currently it has a staff complement of 32.

CPJ Market opened in Kingston giving the retail public access to CPJ’s full range of products including CPJ branded bacon, hamburgers, sausages, and ham.

CRU Bar + Kitchen also opened and quickly became Kingston’s finest rooftop bar and restaurant.!

2000

The Company constructed a 1,000 sq. ft. freezer at the LOJ complex. It began selling seafood and dairy products.

CPJ introduced Red Bull to Jamaica which at the time was the only canned beverage on the market.

As part of its expansion strategy CPJ listed on the Jamaica Junior Stock Exchange. The listing was very successful and oversubscribed.

1994

Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited (CPJ) was first conceptualized by Mark Hart & Thomas (Tom) Tyler. Both envisioned a vertically integrated company that would focus on providing the hospitality industry with consistent service and quality products.

Establishing the Foundation

CPJ started operations selling a container of Eversoft toilet paper from a 10,000 sq ft warehouse in the Sagicor Complex (formerly known as LOJ complex) located in Montego Freeport. CPJ then expanded its products to include a full range of paper products, dry goods, canned goods and condiments over the next two years.
